"When I said I would die a bachelor, I did not think I should live till I were married."

The war in Sicily is over. It should be time to do nothing but relax. But when the victorious Don Pedro and his retinue visit his old friend Leonato, another war resumes: the “merry war” between the sexes.

Hero and Claudio fall in love. However, their friends Beatrice and Benedick seem to loathe each other. So Don Pedro comes up with a plan to bring Beatrice and Benedick together, unaware that his illegitimate brother has far more malicious plans to prise Hero and Claudio apart. Fortunately, the police arrest all the right villains. Unfortunately, they arrest them for all the wrong reasons. While the police dither, someone faces a choice between love and duty that can only have tragic consequences.

The Greek Theatre Players present Shakespeare’s timeless romantic comedy – a tale of love, honour and deceit beneath the hot Sicilian sun.

Come early for traditional Sicilian song and music before the play starts!
